Mrs. Amanda Rath To All Instructors



Amanda Rath BSN, RN earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz before completing an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles. As a registered nurse, she has experience in behavioral health, forensic nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and maternal health. This gives her a broad perspective on both the biological sciences and patient care.

Teaching has always been one of Amanda's greatest passions. Before earning her degrees, she worked as an AVID tutor for middle schoolers, an early childhood educator, and within the education department at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Throughout her nursing career she has continued educating patients and families on their care and conditions. She has developed a teaching style that emphasizes critical thinking, genuine understanding, and the confidence to ask questions.

Amanda, a native to rural California traveled while her husband Derek was still in the military, and now has settled in Kingwood with their two young, Vivienna and Riven. She enjoys spending all her time with her children, gardening, baking, and exploring museums. She is excited to help students discover the beauty and complexity of God's creation while building a strong foundation in biology and preparing them for their future.
